The Bible Women's Project
Upcoming Performances:
November 17, Twelfth Baptist Church, Roxbury, Boston, MA 1:00pm, abridged version. Tickets $20 available at the door.
Originally premiered at Eastern Nazarene College in 2015, The Bible Women’s Project is a theatrical piece telling the true stories of several young Christian women as they intersect with stories of women in the Bible. Due to popular demand, the production's original run was extended and then revived six months later. In 2016, the show was selected to be a part of the New York International Fringe Festival that August. It has been presented at Bethel AME Church in Boston and is now launching a New England tour.
This play combines storytelling, dance, music, improvisation, comedy, and moments of raw honesty. Act one features women from the Old Testament while act two tells stories from the New Testament. Featuring the women Matthew mentions in Jesus’s genealogy as a through line, the play focuses on untold stories or oft-heard stories told in fresh ways.
The show does not shy away from difficult subject matter and for that reason may not be suitable for children.
